1969 Ford XL. 429 4bbl with the c6 automatic. Colorado car. Power steering, power brakes and A/C. The a/c does not work. I would believe the miles to be correct but I can't confirm that.
I purchased this car a few years ago from a friend. It had been sitting since 1983. I lived in Colorado at that time and that is where the car has been all of its life until I relocated to Michigan last fall. The car has very minimal rust. the floors, trunk and frame are in great condition. There is a small amount of rust on right rear fender and the inside of the decklid at the rear.
I repaired the brakes and replaced the tires and wheels with new. I have the original wheels and hub caps that go with the car.
Replaced the master cylinder, front brake rotors, calipers and pads. Repacked front wheel bearings. Replaced rear brake shoes, all hardware, drums, and wheel cylinders.
Replaced the water pump, belts (except a/c belt), fuel pump, rebuilt the carburetor and flushed out the fuel tank. It had no gas in it the tank was dry when I got it. I have not noticed any rust in the fuel filter and inside the carburetor did not show any signs of rust. The fuel gauge does not work I believe the sender in the tank is bad.
The mufflers were full of critter nests so I replaced them with some new glass packs.
I removed the carpet and discarded it. Interior will need some attention as you can see in the pics.
The floors are in excellent condition along with the trunk floor.
Changed oil and filter.
Flushed cooling system and changed coolant.
The engine runs and sounds great.
The transmission pan is leaking but after topping off the fluid it shifts thru all the gears good.
The car is still a project but does move under its own power now. Feel free to call me at 970-620-6923 with any questions.
I have a video of under the car and a video of the car running that I can text if interested. They were too long to download on eBay apparently.
