According to the serial number, this camera was manufactured in 1934. It is an early classic Leica rangefinder and one of the foundations of the Leica system.

The camera has undergone a complete technical service, including full disassembly, cleaning, and replacement of selected components.

The shutter curtains are in good condition, with no cracks or holes, and remain flexible. Shutter speeds were checked electronically. Due to the age of the camera, faster speeds are slightly slower than nominal, which is normal and expected for cameras of this era. Curtain travel is even, with no overlap observed.

One common issue with early Leica cameras is the degradation of the semi-transparent mirror (beam splitter) in the viewfinder, which makes focusing difficult.
In this camera, the beam splitter has been replaced with a new, high-quality unit — the best currently available on the market, offering increased contrast. This significantly improves rangefinder visibility and ease of focusing.

The flange focal distance has been set correctly.

It appears that the camera was serviced at some point in the past. A non-original flash synchronizer is installed. Its operation has not been tested due to lack of appropriate equipment. During that earlier service, the shutter curtains were most likely replaced as well.

Externally, the camera is in very good condition, with no major signs of wear. For a camera that is over 90 years old, it presents notably better than one might expect.

Before shipping, the camera will be carefully checked once again. I do not ship cameras if I have doubts after the final inspection.
