Maxxis Minion DHR II DD Folding 3C MaxxTerra Tyre DoubleDown 29 27.5 Tubeless

Available now, the Maxxis Minion DHR II DD Folding 3C MaxxTerra Tyre at Grip & Pedal. The go to rear tyre, the heavier DoubleDown casing works well on Trail/Enduro bikes for improved puncture protection.

With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The centre tread features ramped leading edges to improve acceleration and sipes to create a smooth transition when leaning the bike. Paddle-like knobs on the centre tread dig in under hard braking and help keep the bike under control.

Pair it with a Assegai or High Roller 3 up front for the ultimate aggressive trail riding tire combo! Both are available in trail, enduro, and downhill specs.

Available technologies:

3C MaxxTerra:

  • Maxxis’ 3C MaxxTerra is an intermediate triple compound configuration used across our mountain tire line. The 3C MaxxTerra compound offers more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, yet provides better tread wear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip, which makes it ideal for trail riding in all conditions.

DoubleDown (DD):

  • DoubleDown (DD) is the next step in the evolution of the dual-ply tire casing for enduro racing. Two 120 TPI casing layers reinforced with a butyl insert provide the enduro racer with the support and protection of a downhill tire, but in a lighter package.

Tubeless Ready:

  • Tubeless tyre provide the rider with many benefits. The ability to run lower air pressures, which generally improves traction. Lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tyre: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready.

Wide Trail:

  • Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tyre’s tread layout and profile on today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tyre profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for a 35mm inner rim width but are proven to work over a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider’s preference.
