It belongs to the work Portraits of the Illustrious Spaniards with an epitome of their lives, Madrid, Imprenta Real y Real Calcografía, 1791-[1819] Published by the Royal Calcografía, it began under the orders of Floridablanca, and continued with Aranda and the Prince of Peace, Godoy. Until 1819, a total of 114 portraits were engraved. This was a propaganda project of the newly created National Chalcography, both the choice of portraits and the biographies that accompanied them were carefully supervised and censored.
