Antique Early Spongeware Plate Stick Spatter Ware HAND PAINTED FLORAL Swirl

6.25" size, central pink flower is 2.75" across 

Genuine antique early Victorian, hand painted with a swirled surface. Very collectible and unique. Folk Art/genuine Primitive style. Not a repro. No maker's mark on back as typical for a very early piece

Hand applied stick-spatter patterning is gorgeous and the colors rich and unusual. The smaller flowers surrounding the leaves show the sponged-on paint

Color of plate is cream [not white], with richly saturated paint colors. Gloss finish on top is nice and shiny, not dull or faded 

Very good antique condition, one VERY SMALL flat chip off the back rim edge which is visible as a tiny nick from the front. See last 2 pics- minor. Otherwise, excellent. No other nicks chips cracks crazing, some faint surface wear normal for age. 

A charming and unique plate, would look wonderful hung on a wall or on display.
