Effective January 27, 1956, Pago Pago, American Samoa, was made a port of call on Foreign Air Mail Route 14.

This new stop was actually on a spur from Nadi in the Fiji Islands to Tafuna, the airport city for Pago Pago, operated once a month. The cachet used was applied at all points. 

This cover was carried on the inaugural Foreign Air Mail Route 14 flight from Pago Pago, Samoa to Nadi, Fiji (where it was backstamped) and is listed in the Foreign Air Mail (FAM) Section of The American Air Mail Catalogue as F14-108c.
