12.25 x 9 inches. Mouth opening is 4 inches. There are some chips and cracks on the handle. Other than that, in pretty good condition

Up for sale is an antique S.P. Gerz German Westerwald salt-glazed stoneware beer stein/jug, impressed on the base with the Gerz triangle mark and mold/catalog number 301.

This piece features detailed raised relief decoration with drinkers, hops vines, grapes, leaves, scrollwork, and a figural face near the rim. It has the classic blue and gray Westerwald stoneware look associated with German beer steins and jugs from the late 19th to early 20th century.

The hole at the top of the handle indicates this piece was originally made with a pewter lid, which is no longer present. Selling as shown, with the original lid/hardware missing.

Approximate date: circa 1900–1910.

A great display piece for collectors of antique German beer steins, Westerwald stoneware, S.P. Gerz, or breweriana.
