Rare sterling silver spoon from San Diego California commemorating connecting Atlantic Ocean with Panama Canal to Pacific Ocean, Pan Pacific International Exposition of 1915, featuring on the handle cut out design and embossed very detailed scene of buildings, then writing PUENTE CABRILLO & CALIFORNIA BLDG and SAN DIEGO CAL down the handle. Exposition was also known as P.P.I.E. for PANAMA PACIFIC INTERNATIONAL EXPOSITION. The exposition was held in 1915 celebrating Panama Canal connecting two oceans. Commemorating of this event was taking mainly in San Francisco California but also in cities all along the western coast. It measures 5-5/8” long (142 mm), weighs 15.9 grams and is in excellent condition. On the back marked STERLING along with hallmark for H. H. Tammen Company.
