On Apple's hardware architecture, the biometric Touch ID sensor is cryptographically paired to its original factory logic board. Replacing your power button with this one will completely restore the physical click-to-power mechanism and wake/sleep functions perfectly. However, fingerprint Touch ID login and Apple Pay will be unavailable. This is a standard security restriction across all replacement Apple power buttons.
