Lancaster Under Attack is one of Robert Taylor's finest pieces, in my opinion.

This has previously been framed, which is why there are some marks around the outside. It has also been mounted onto cardboard to give it stability, so it is ready to be framed as you like it.

Can therefore be posted flat, as there is no glass to worry about.

It is Number 35 0f 650 Worldwide and has the matching Certificate of Authenticity.

The print itself measures 33" x 23" and is signed by Robert Taylor, Luftwaffe Major Martin Drewes and Flight Lieutenant Bill Reid, VC recipient.

A bit of background on the signatories,

Flight Lieutenant BILL REID. V.C.

Though seriously injured by gunfire when attacked by German ME110 and Fw190 Night-figthers during a night raid over Dusseldorf, Bill Reid pressed on, bombed the target, and somehow got his surviving Lancaster crew safely home. The 25 mission bomber pilot was awarded the Victoria Cross for gallantry.

Major MARTIN DREWES.

One of the great Luftwaffe night-fighter pilots, between 1941-45, Martin Drewes completed 235 combat missions flying the ME110 and achieved 52 aerial victories. In 1944 he was promoted to command III./NJG1 and by the end of the war he was the holder of the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves.
