Metro Exodus on PlayStation 4 is a highly atmospheric, rewarding sandbox-survival shooter that successfully transitions the series out of underground tunnels into sprawling surface biomes. The game leaves behind the purely linear structure of its predecessors for large, non-linear sandboxes like the frozen Volga or the arid Caspian Sea. Firefights feel incredibly lethal and deliberate; weapons feel heavy, character movement is slow, and ammunition is always scarce.
I loved this game. Played it recently so it’s fully tested and working. It doesn’t come with the the two story expansion packs but I highly recommend getting them as they offer great value for money. Particularly Sam’s Story, which is practically a whole new game in itself.
