I recently picked up a 1973 Topps near complete set with a handful of duplicates that are in the nicest condition I've ever seen. These cards have brilliant white borders and vivid bright colors. The corners are razor sharp. THe only thing that keeps these from scoring a 9 or 10 are either very slight centering issues or a single corner imperfection.  You can really see the quality of the cards when you look at the back and see nothing but solid black rather than the common yellow chipping.

While I am not a professional grader, this card is of the highest quality. If you were to submit the card 10 times to a grading company I would guess the average grade would be 8.5 ...and it would receive a grade of 9 2-3 times....unfortunately the grading companies have changed their grading standards and giving a modern card a grade of a 9 is as challenging as getting a 10 a few years ago. If your goal is to have a high grade set, this card will not disappoint.
