48th Maintenance Operations Squadron The 48th Maintenance Operations (MXO) Squadron leads the 48th MXG’s operations management, administration, analysis, training management of assigned personnel, programs, & shared resources necessary to support the group’s production effort. MXO is the central agency for monitoring & developing long- range strategies of fleet management to sustain the health of the fleet & manages the largest Flying Hour Program (FHP) in the CAF. MXO is comprised of a diverse unit of 13 work centers, 6 flights and 33 AFSCs that include the Maintenance Operation Center (MOC), Engine Management (EM), Plans, Scheduling & Documentation (PS&D), Maintenance Analysis (MMA), Maintenance Training (MT), Programs & Resources (P&R), Weapons Standardization (WSS), Quality Assurance (QA), Futures Flight (FF) and 48th MXG staff.
RAF Lakenheath is the largest U.S. Air Force base in Europe. Located in Suffolk, England, it serves as the home of the 48th Fighter Wing (the "Liberty Wing"). The base hosts a massive contingent of active-duty military and civilian personnel, housing combat-ready F-15 Strike Eagle and F-35A Lightning II squadrons.
