The Wear-Brite trademark was a popular line of mid-century commercial hotelware and serving pieces manufactured by the Grand Silver Company in the United States. Originating in the 1920s and flourishing through the 1950s, the brand is widely known for its durable, silver-soldered nickel silver construction.

Café Brûlot (also known as Café Brûlot Diabolique or "Devil's Coffee") was created at Antiones in New Orleans

It is a spectacular, flaming after-dinner coffee cocktail popularized in New Orleans in the 1880s. It combines dark roasted coffee, brandy, citrus, and spices, and is famously set ablaze and ladled tableside.

Recipe

3 inches cinnamon sticks, broken

6 whole cloves

4 sugar cubes (or more to taste)

1 strip orange peel, 3x1/4-inch membrane removed

1 strip lemon peel, 3x1/4-inch membrane removed

1⁄2 cup brandy

2 cups hot strong coffee

In the blazer pan of a chafing dish combine cinnamon, cloves, sugar cubes, orange peel, and lemon peel.

In a small saucepan heat brandy until it almost simmers.

Remove from heat and ignite.

Pour over mixture in blazer pan.

Place blazer pan over chafing dish burner. Spoon brandy over sugar until cubes melt. Stir in coffee. Makes 4 (4-ounce) servings.

Condition: this is minor oxidation on the interior of the bowl.

Otherwise, in excellent condition, gently owned.

It has not been polished since acquired.

No chips, cracks, flea bites, crazing, staining, discoloration or other evident damage flaws, or repair.

Pre-owned items are used and show varying amounts of wear.
