Aircraft tail code clearly shows "216L" — the distinctive "L" geometric tail code belonged to Carrier Air Group 12 (CVG-12 / VF-12) aboard the USS Randolph.
Classic Hellcat features: radial engine, three-bladed propeller, folded wings for carrier stowage, and heavy armor plating.
