Eda Varricchio (1923–2018) was an internationally acclaimed Italian-American Postwar and Contemporary artist best known for her impressionistic, vibrant paintings of gardens, landscapes, and abundant floral arrangements. Regarded as one of the 20th century’s finest garden painters, her work is celebrated for its purity, expressive color palettes, and peaceful country themes.
- Early Life: Born in Smyrna (now Izmir), Turkey, to Italian parents, her early artwork was first displayed and recognized in Italy.
- Training: She studied under Maestro Oscar Saccorotti, one of Italy's most prominent mid-20th-century artists.
- Global Presence: Varricchio lived for many years in Santa Rosa, California, maintaining strong ties to the San Francisco Bay Area art scene. She also developed a massive following in Japan, spending several months there each year exhibiting her work in Tokyo, Yokohama, and Osaka.
