Rare Set of 4 Antique Georgian / Early Victorian Heavy Brass Lion Claw Furniture Feet – c. 1800-1850
Authentic set of four antique lion claw foot toe caps. Dating from the early 19th century (circa 1800–1850), these heavy brass caps are spectacular examples of early metalwork craftsmanship, perfect for Duncan Phyfe style dining tables, piano stools, or early Victorian cabinetry.
Unlike modern lightweight reproductions, these caps are remarkably substantial. They were produced using traditional sand-casting methods, which gives them incredible weight, character, and a unique presence.
Each cap shows clear, historic signs of hand-filing along the edges and authentic sand-mold textures on the interiors—the definitive fingerprints of 19th-century artisans.
They retain a magnificent, untouched rich antique patina with natural green verdigris nestled in the deep recesses of the claws.
