A superb novelty solid silver pepper pot. It is hallmarked with the German crescent moon and crown mark, the 800 standard mark and a makers mark, I would date it to c1920. It has been superbly designed being in the form of a chick. It has been superbly designed and is in superb condition being free from dings, splits and repairs. It measures approx. 2.25 inches (5.6cm) beak to tail by 1.25 inches (3.2cm) wide by 1.75 inches (4.6cm) tall and weighs 28 grams. A well made piece.
