The 1971 Race of Champions at Brands Hatch, held on 21 March, was one of the non-championship Formula 1 fixtures that gave British crowds early-season glimpses of the works cars before the World Championship resumed. Clay Regazzoni won for Ferrari from Jackie Stewart's Tyrrell, with John Surtees third in his own Surtees-Cosworth. Graham Hill, twice world champion and by then driving a Brabham BT34, was joined on the entry by Lotus's Reine Wisell and Australian Tim Schenken in the second Brabham. Programmes from this era of non-championship F1 are increasingly scarce.
