Ancient bronze coin issued during the reign of King Aretas IV (9 BC–AD 40), ruler of the Nabataean Kingdom centered at Petra. Aretas IV ruled during the lifetime of Jesus Christ and oversaw one of the most prosperous periods of Nabataean history. The obverse features the king's portrait while the reverse displays crossed cornucopias, symbols of prosperity and abundance. Certified authentic by NGC and encapsulated for protection.
Bronze issue of Aretas IV, who ruled a kingdom neighboring Judaea during the life of Jesus Christ. They were famous as traders, centered in the rock-cut city of Petra deep within the desert.
