Up
for auction is a wonderful piece of American fraternal history. This is an
original, early 20th-century Knights of Pythias (K.P.) fraternal bar
pin, which originally served as the top hanger portion for a ceremonial ribbon
badge. I am offering this item on behalf of a consignor. The pin features an
ornate gold-tone scrollwork border housing a cream-colored insert. It
prominently displays the bold initials K.P. flanking the traditional
Pythian coat of arms shield, featuring a knight's helmet, crossed battle axes,
and the symbolic F.C.B. (Friendship, Charity, Benevolence) tricolor
crest.

& Condition Analysis
Based
on a professional evaluation of photo 1 and photo 2, this fraternal piece is in
very good antique condition. The front-facing gold plating retains a
beautiful, bright luster with excellent definition on the scrolled edges. The
painted details within the central F.C.B. shield show some expected age-related
paint loss and micro-flaking, which heavily validates its authentic
turn-of-the-century provenance. The reverse side shows a rich, undisturbed age
patina with a fully functional pin mechanism that remains straight and true. It
is a highly collectible cross-collectible piece for both historical society
buffs and fraternal jewelry enthusiasts alike.

Transparent Pricing: To ensure fairness to all buyers, our items utilize calculated shipping based on the package weight, dimensions, and the buyer's address. We maintain a nominal starting price (often $0.99, NO RESERVE) to prevent buyers closer to us from subsidizing high-cost international shipping.
Handling Fee: A nominal handling fee of $3.00 (Domestic) and $4.00 (International) is included in the total shipping charge to cover packing materials and logistical costs.
Informed Bidding: We encourage bidders to consider the total cost (winning bid + shipping charge) when determining their maximum acceptable bid.
Cost Inclusion: Please understand that "Free Shipping" on any platform requires the seller to factor the shipping cost into the item's starting price. Regardless of the listing method, shipping is always paid. Our policy ensures that all buyers pay an accurate, distance-based rate rather than an inflated starting price that averages in the highest potential shipping cost.
Buyer Action: We encourage all potential bidders to review the shipping charges section before placing a bid. Bids on this item confirm the buyer's acceptance of the stated shipping and handling fees. We refer you to our extensive positive feedback history as evidence of our long-standing commitment to fair and honest business practices.
