1964 BSA A65 Desert Sled
This motorcycle is part of an estate sale collection that belonged to the late Fred Sepulveda. I purchased seven bikes from the estate. The motorcycle was sitting in a rear shed in southern California. Barn find style.
This bike has great character and is fitted with several cool period components.
ARD magneto, Borrani aluminum front rim, Ceriani dirt bike forks, Dunlop Trails 3.25-19 front tire, Tomaselli levers, TT-style exhaust pipes, bates seat.
The bike starts right up, runs well, and sounds strong , after cleaning the fuel system rebuilding the carbs, new fuel line, petcocks rebuilt, the tank is fiberglass, so we sealed it with Caswell gas tank sealer blood red on the inside. We also ran a compression check after sitting for twenty years it had incredibly high compression, 145 psi per cylinder. Valve adjustment and new oil change with fresh fuel along with a lot of other fine tuning she fired up in 2 kicks. The motorcycle doesn't smoke and does not leak. The clutch plates were replaced and it shifts fine and goes into gear and neutral very easy.
The engine and transmission operate properly with no leaks of any kind.
Cosmetically, the bike shows normal wear consistent with its age. The rear fender has some paint chipping, the Bates seat has wear with a hole on the front side of the seat cover, and the taillight is missing its lens. Please look closely at all photos as they are an important part of the description.
Know is a great opportunity to own a period correct Desert sled for a great price. I have the title and she runs great ready to race.
Any questions feel free to ask. Happy to oblige. Also this motorcycle is currently owned and prepared by the oldest motorcycle shop in the USA.
