Among the Sénoufo, the statuettes are very diverse in form and function, but almost all play a role in the initiation of Poro.
These are maternity effigies which represent Kaatleyoo, the mythical ancestor or the pestle statues of the Poro, the Déblé which sometimes reach monumental dimensions and which, preciously preserved within the enclosure of the Sacred Wood of the Poro, the Sinzanga or Sézing, protect the still vulnerable initiates.
