Product description

Colonist Agni. Old part of over 50 years.

The Agnis are a population of West Africa, living mainly in Côte d'Ivoire, but also in Ghana.

The Agnis represent around 1,200,000 people. They were the first people in the country to get in touch with Europeans in the 17th century.

At the beginning of the 18th century, coming from the Ashanti kingdom of Ghana, the first Agnis cross the Ivorian border with another people of primitive Akans. Arrived at the Aby lagoon, they founded the kingdom of the undenied one, kingdom of Sanwi and that of Moronou with the Agnis Mrôfo.
Another part of the Agnis, led by Queen Abla Pokou, continues west and people of the large savannah covering the center of the Ivory Coast. They will only stop at the Bandama river. The Agnis who followed Queen Abla Pokou are called the Baoulés (Baouli) "The child is dead" today.

It should be noted that there are other sub-groups such as Agnis-Assonvon in the locality of Ebilassokro, east of Côte d'Ivoire.

The AKAN chiefdom system is of a monarchical type: the choice stems from a hereditary succession mechanism which limits the exercise of power to the members of a single family. This took place in accordance with the general rule of successions of the reigning tribe which directed a historical role from neighboring Ghana towards the end of the 17th century.

Before French colonization, the Akan had developed a kingdom with a political structure made up of the sovereign assisted by his council. The rest of the company was made up of three main castes: nobles, free men and slaves.

Among the Agnis, the trawler is the Kômian. In the Akans societies of Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire, all the people have occult knowledge. Kômians can teach their knowledge to kings or give predictions about the future. Their magico-relieving transes allow them to understand incomprehensible things for ordinary people. The Kômians are grouped into secret companies.
