Hello!
Up for sale is a fantastic piece of vintage drum kit history: an authentic, hand-carved Chinese "Wooden Fish" Temple Block (Muyu), complete with its original vintage heavy-duty bass drum hoop mount.
This piece delivers an incredible acoustic effect with a crisp, dry, hollow "clop" accent that modern plastic blocks simply cannot replicate. It is a highly usable piece of vintage percussion perfect for gigging jazz/swing drummers, recording studios, or collectors of period gear.
Brand / Provenance While the clamp itself is unbranded (standard for utility console hardware of this era), it was recovered directly from a large estate collection of verified 1960s Premier drum kit gear. Based on the heavy-gauge steel construction, the specific shape of the wing-nut assembly, and the UK provenance, it is highly likely to be a vintage Premier or Beverley trap accessory mount, though it shares characteristics with period Carlton or Dallas imports. It represents an excellent, era-correct match for a mid-century British drum setup.
