A charming and elegant Victorian-era trinket or jewelry box combining a sparkling diamond-cut pressed glass base with a silver-plate hinged lid centered by a beautifully detailed raised gilt brass medallion. The medallion depicts a richly worked classical romantic scene — a seated maiden in a garden contemplating a bouquet of flowers, with a winged Cupid serenading her from beside a tree, birds in flight above, all framed by lush foliage and landscape detail. The relief casting is exceptionally fine, with strong depth and shadow that gives the scene a painterly quality.

The silver-plate lid frame features a delicate beaded border and gentle gilded edge detail where it meets the glass body. The pressed glass base has an all-over hobnail-diamond cut pattern that sparkles brilliantly in light. The lid sits securely on the glass base.

This type of vanity box was a staple of the Victorian and Edwardian dressing table — used to hold rings, hairpins, combs, small perfume bottles, or other intimate accessories. The romantic figural medallion reflects the era's love of classical and pastoral imagery drawn from artists such as Watteau and Fragonard.

Dimensions: Approximately 3¾" × 2½" Condition: Good antique condition — glass clean and bright; silver-plate lid shows age-appropriate wear and light surface scratches; gilt medallion retains strong detail and tone. No chips to glass noted.
