You are bidding on a new era Oakland athletics A’s DuPont visor fitted polyester stretchy cap in size M/L , classic 1970’s swingin’ A’s Kelly green and in beautiful shape!!. This cap (with the sewn on team patch) is an example of the cheaper replicas sold to fans at games as the official authentic collection hats (that resemble what is available to you today) either were not sold or sold in extremely small numbers. New era (who made the on field hats along with KM Pro) made these stretchy DuPont visor polyester fitted hats that could accommodate a range of sizes (this M/L can likely fit a size 7 1/4-7 3/4). This particular A’s hat is from either of the 1970-1971 seasons after the apostrophe in A’s was added in 1970 and before the 2nd serif was given to the calligraphic “A” for the 1972 season where the first World Series of the three peat was one. Being 55 years old plus, this hat is in incredible condition with only light wear on the outside of the cap that could likely wash off with some effort (I have never tried), no holes, no cracking on the brim or yellowing of any white areas—-just minimal wear but incredible condition for being over 50 years old! The hat is very unstructured since there is no buckram on the front of the cap to keep its shape like hats today but it is clean, odor free, stain free and still has some elasticity in the fit. I took the pictures with two rolls of tape under the visor to preserve the hat’s circular structure for better determination of how it would look on a human head or mannequin display. A little hydrogen peroxide carefully applied to the sweatband could it white again with minimal effort, I just don’t have time so my loss is your gain.
