Vintage Japanese Kabuto Helmet Display w/ Lacquered Wood Box

This is a vintage Japanese decorative metal samurai helmet, or kabuto . It has metal decorative maedate . The curled sides, or fukikaeshi , depict chrysanthemum floral motifs in metal pieces and the ornament at the top is a dragon. It has an orange pair of silk tassels tied at the base. It can be disassembled. This helmet comes in a black lacquered wooden box with purple wash paper lining that is used as part of the display. The front of the box has a beautiful gold makie design of plum blossoms, pine trees, and chrysanthemums. In order to help the helmet stand up, there is a small stand as well as a decorative purple cloth to put beneath it.
