This very nice 3-rail AC HO gauge locomotive by Roco is 43952 a Swiss Ae 6/8 electric locomotive in a BLS brown livery. It has running number 206.

The Ae 6/8 locomotives of the Bernese Alpine Railway Company Bern-Lötschberg-Simplon (BLS) were built between 1926 and 1943. The reason for this was that the Be 5/7, which were 13 years older , could no longer cope with the increased volume of traffic. The first two available locomotives were used to haul coal trains over the Lötschberg, with one locomotive alone pulling a train weighing 550 tons. Even with the load of 600 tons permitted from 1929, the locomotive was not yet fully utilized. Until the introduction of the Ae 8/14 by the SBB, the Ae 6/8 was the most powerful locomotive in the world. In principle, only heavy freight trains were transported with the Ae 6/8. The passenger trains were the responsibility of the Be 5/7, only when they were too heavy was a Be 6/8 used.

Individual machines of this series were rented a few times by the SBB and used on the Gotthard railway .

Eight examples were built, three remain in preservation including loco 206, which is still on display so could be used on a modern or period layout.

The loco is in good condition as you can see in the pictures, The locomotive is tested and runs with working lights. We have tested it on rollers both in the forwards and backwards directions.  A complete external visual inspection has shown the overall condition is good, please see the pictures in the gallery for a good look a the loco. The box is in good if slightly shelf worn condition.

Overall this is a really nice scale locomotive and would look fantastic on a layout.

Do please have a look at our other listings, we typically have various HO and OO locos on offer as well as an extensive range of imported N gauge locos and other items.

Note: We do recommend all locos are cleaned & serviced, as they have some age to them even if the quality looks at the highest level (fairly standard advice for all locos!).
