This is an early date Barber Half Dollar, an 1898 certified and graded by PCGS as VF25.  I don't often say this for Barber coins, but I think this coin was perfectly graded.  All but bits of the bottom of BER in LIBERTY are fully visible and the wear on the eagle's wingtips seems appropriate for the grade.  Unlike many graded Barbers, there is no evidence of any type of cleaning.
