Sträflich unterbewertet......denke ich immer wenn ich über die viel kritisierte "Turbo und RAM IT DOWN" Phase" lese oder höre. Ich bevorzuge auch die gängigen Priest-Klassiker Alben aber RID ist es immer wieder wert neu entdeckt zu werden! KK und Tipton hatten ihre Gitarrenskills auf diesem Album extrem nach oben geschraubt, ähnlich geile Solos und Licks gibt es eigentlich nur noch auf dem PAINKILLER Album.
Der Song HARD AS IRON enthält schon deutliche PAINKILLER-Vibes!
Der Titeltrack bläst mich immer noch jedesmal vom Hocker. Diese GÖTTLICHEN Gitarrenduelle darauf sind unerreicht!
UNDER BLOOD RED SKIES kam ja auf der letzten Tour nochmal zu späten Ehren.
Kann ich nur jeden Metalhead ans Herz legen!!!
Criminally underrated......that's what I always think when I read or hear about the much-criticised ‘Turbo and RAM IT DOWN’ phase. I also prefer the popular Priest classic albums, but RID is always worth rediscovering! KK and Tipton really upped their guitar skills on this album; the only other album with similarly awesome solos and licks is PAINKILLER.The song HARD AS IRON definitely has PAINKILLER vibes!The title track still blows me away every time. The DIVINE guitar duels on it are unmatched!UNDER BLOOD RED SKIES was given a belated tribute on the last tour.I can only recommend it to every metalhead!!!
