This vinyl LP features recorded excerpts of addresses delivered by Cal Farley (1895–1967). Farley was a professional welterweight wrestler and Amarillo businessman who founded Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in 1939 on the site of Old Tascosa, Texas. He established the ranch to provide a structured, rural home environment for at-risk youth, famously seeking to help "the boy nobody wanted." The audio on this mono release was produced by Amarillo radio station KPUR, capturing historical speeches from the founder prior to his death in 1967.

Since the recording of this album in 1968, Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch has evolved from its historical origins into a modern residential childcare campus. Over the subsequent decades, the organization expanded its professional programs and community-based services to assist both boys and girls. Operating as a non-profit organization, the ranch continues to provide residential care and family support services without relying on state or federal funding, sustained instead through private donations.
