Fabulous collection of Dickens magazines that were released every fortnight in 2004.
They were £5.99 each which was pretty expensive back then. The first copy, to lure you in, was A$6.95, but from there on the rest were A$13.95, making the collection just under A$440 (plus the cost of the folders) which is equal to about $750 today 😬
A huge outlay but my parents diligently purchased them for more than a year until the set was complete.
Pretty sure the enthusiasm waned as the weeks passed because issues 1 & 2 show signs of being read/handled but the rest become more like new as you go through. By the time you get to the second folder they’re literally immaculate like new 😂
Issue #12 (purple) has a small scuff at the top of the cover as shown in the photo.
Folder One has had the top part of the white plastic spine snap (see close-up pic). If I was keeping them I’d just superglue it and slide the individual clips back on as I’m sure that’s all it needs, but I’ll leave it to the new owner to decide as you may choose not to keep them in the ugly retro brown vinyl any longer 😉
Amazing condition really for being over 20yrs old, and still such a great resource full of information, stories & history.
They’re heavy. The parcel will be around 4kgs once packaged up.
