This antique shipping box, with its sturdy finger joint construction, held 6 pounds of Kingsford's Silver Gloss Starch and is from the late 1800s or very early 1900s. This Oswego, NY company that began in 1848 was world renowned for this product. The paper labels, though partial, are still legible and colorful. The sliding top sits on the top, but delicately, having only two of its three edges. All-in-all, this is a very nice piece with a beautiful patina.
