I am selling my 1971 Range Rover Classic which I have owned for 10 years. During the Covid lock down the car was entrusted to Coker & Sons body shop in Edenbridge for a full body off restoration which took them 3 years to complete. 

The body was removed from the chassis and any rust found was cut out and replaced with new metal or good second hand body panels.The chassis was completely taken apart and all worn parts replaced including bushes, swivel  joints, brakes, discs, brake lines and suspension 

. A new exhaust was fitted along with a new petrol tank and electric fuel pump. The wheels were stripped and powder coated and new tyres fitted. 

A complete and original overdrive assembly was sourced and fitted and also an original power steering system which would have both been optional extras on this year of car. The floor area has been soundproofed and a bespoke black carpet set has been fitted in place of rubber mats this year of car would have been supplied with.

The bodywork was stripped and resprayed in the original Davos white colour and the front and rear bumpers were painted black.

The interior is in great condition and a new fibreglass headliner was fitted so no more sagging roof.

This car featured on the front cover of Land Rover monthly and was also in Classic, Retro, Modern magazine. It has a British heritage certificate and an independent insurance valuation for £70,000.

This is one of the best ‘A’ suffix Range Rovers for sale without the silly asking prices seen for similar Range Rovers of this year. It has only had 4 previous owners and the mileage is only 35,500 from new. The engine has been given new heads and a camshaft.

The electrics are all original and if I was keeping it I would have new wiring fitted and probably swap the original Stromberg carbs (rebuilt) with more up to date S.U carbs or even a Holley carburettor.

It is not a car to be stored in a garage it was restored to be driven and enjoyed. It’s a regular visitor to Goodwood and always draws a lots of attention.
