Large Depression-era San Francisco Catholic girls’ school scrapbook/photo album kept by Elena Roseann Casaretto, a member of the Academy of the Presentation graduating class of 1935. The album features a hand-painted wooden front cover depicting the Academy building, labeled “Academy of the Presentation, San Francisco,” with rope border decoration, brass hinges, and cord binding.
Contents include original photographs of the Academy, Presentation Sisters, school buildings and outings, together with handmade class mementos, decorative paper pieces, typed class-history and prophecy material, handwritten dedications, and school-related ephemera.
Elena Roseann Casaretto is listed in the Academy of the Presentation commencement program for May 31, 1935, held at the Academy Little Theatre, Turk Street at Masonic Avenue, San Francisco. The Academy later formed part of Presentation High School, San Francisco, operated by the Sisters of the Presentation from 1915 to 1991.
The scrapbook includes photographs of the Academy building, Presentation Convent, students, faculty, school events, retreats, graduation-related material, senior class memorabilia, handwritten inscriptions, decorative handmade paper items, school pennants, and a Class of 1935 portrait sheet. The wooden cover features a painted view of the Academy building and remains attached with its original brass hinges and cord binding.

Album worn from age and handling, with fragile pages, edge wear, staining, old adhesive/tape residue, wrinkled protective coverings, and some loose or delicate elements.
