Shows light wear from use and handling, including surface marks and scratches. They have been gently hand polished and ultrasonic cleaned in a mild dish soap and they have nice shine and are very clean. They are straight, not bent out of shape, whale backs are tight and secure, has no other personal monograms or engravings, with no major issues at all.
They are nicely done in an abstract shape indicative of the 1950s Mid Century era, featuring inlaid copper around the edges and letters over the Sterling Silver base. They are not metal purity hallmarked, but each are marked on the back in the familiar round shape METALES CASTILLO, mark for historic and listed Mexican silversmith, Los Castillo of Taxco, Mexico. They were founded in 1939 by brothers Antonio, Jorge, Miguel, and Justo Castillo after working under legendary silversmith, William Spratling, and became one of the best known workshops in the area for their quality and innovation. They have been gently stone and acid tested and confirms Sterling Silver.
