Zahn Cup Viscosity Cup Dip Type 44ml Stainless Steel
The Zahn Cup is a precision-engineered dip-type viscometer designed for quick and reliable viscosity measurements of low to medium-viscosity fluids. Manufactured in strict compliance with ASTM D4212 standards, this instrument is an essential tool for quality control in industries such as paints, coatings, inks, and adhesives.
Crafted entirely from durable stainless steel, it offers excellent corrosion resistance and long-term reliability. They are specifically calibrated for a viscosity range of 20 to 1800 centistokes (cSt), providing accurate results with an outflow time of 20 to 80 seconds.
Standard Compliance: Conforms to ASTM D4212 for dependable, standardized testing.
Durable Construction: Made from high-quality stainless steel, resistant to rust and chemical corrosion.
Ideal Measurement Range: Perfect for thin oils, paints, varnishes, lacquers, and other coatings.
Precision Engineering: A 44ml cup volume for consistent, repeatable results.
Easy to Use: Simple dip-and-lift operation allows for rapid viscosity checks on the production floor or in the lab.
Easy Maintenance: Simple to clean and maintain for long-term accuracy.

For accurate results, please follow this procedure carefully:
Cleaning: Before use, thoroughly clean the cup and its orifice with an appropriate solvent and ensure it is completely dry. Pay special attention to cleaning the small hole to prevent any blockage.
Model Selection: Ensure the #2 model is suitable for your sample, targeting an outflow time between 20 and 80 seconds for optimal accuracy.
Temperature Stabilization: Adjust both the sample and the cup to a standard temperature of 23°C ± 0.5°C (or another pre-agreed temperature). Temperature control is critical for a valid measurement.
Immersion: Fully immerse the cup vertically into the sample liquid.
Lifting: Place your finger into the handle ring and lift the cup vertically, quickly, and steadily out of the liquid.
Timing: As the top of the liquid stream first breaks, start the stopwatch. Stop the timer at the first breakpoint in the stream. The elapsed time in seconds is the efflux time used to determine viscosity.
Post-Use Care: Clean the cup immediately with a suitable solvent. Never use a metal brush or abrasive tools, as this can damage the calibrated orifice. Dry the cup completely before storage.
