This is an exceptional antique "Sterling Silver" desk set, which is rare and belonged to a wealthy family. I purchased this at an estate sale in Far Hills, New Jersey. Which was a 6 million dollar mansion. The owner claimed that this once belonged to noted author "Leo Tolstoy", and had been passed down the family for 3 generations. I do not have any documentation to prove this, but the sterling silver "Wax Seal" has hand engraved initials of "L.T." which is Leo Tolstoys initials. There is also a "rose" engraved on the knife. A rose is on the cover of Tolstoys famous book, Anna karenina. I show 2 photographs of the Tolstoy museum in Russia. Which shows another similar desk set, which is on Tolstoys desk. From my research throughout Tolstoy's life he traveled throughout Europe. He may have been gifted this sterling silver set. The set consist of a wax seal, two glass inkwells, ink pen, and two letter openers. The large letter opener has a stunning engraved handle.
