For sale here is this original single vintage art deco armchair by Jindrich Halabala model H410 Circa 1940 we bought it on our last buying trip to Prague. 

This particular chair has great arms, really good wood with nice colour and patina I’m selling it as cheaper for recovering because there are some marks and some small thread bear patches on the Chairs material, all of this has been taken into account when pricing please check all pictures carefully. When I have these chairs recovered or perfect, I get £600 for one chair.

DESCRIPTION.

This fantastic looking mid century chair was made in The Czech Republic  sometime in 1954 we bought it in Prague last month , it is in completely original and good condition structurally and the springs are good just some issues with the fabric.

The wood dark in colour and has an even colour and has an even patination, they are strong and sturdy

This particular chair is the H410 model which was the 1930s version Halabala designed. It is quite similar to the H227 model which is the late 1950s version of the same chair. The H410 model has a slightly shorter arm.   

I get a lot of people asking me if these are original Halabala armchairs and I can tell you 100% that yes it is. There are many people on eBay selling chairs which they are calling Halabala which are not designed by him……This pair definitely are. 

Jindrich Halabala was a designer who made a directory with many different designs of chairs which manufacturers used to make chairs, he also invented the piece of machinery which enabled manufacturers to steam bend the large pieces of Beachwood to make the arms. This particular pair of chairs were made by Ton manufacturers in Prague.

I have bought and sold dozens of pairs of this model over the last five or six years but since Brexit they have become more difficult to get hold of but the demand is still very high. 

the standout feature of this chair is the large steam bent wood arm typical art deco design but also very contemporary to today’s tastes, on this particular chair The condition and colour of the arms are perfect. Also there is an extra deep seat with 16 X 8 inch spring

Good condition, the frame is strong. The arms and Wood are good. The springs are good just a few marks and a little bit of fading on the material. This is all been taken into account when pricing.
