〜Features〜
●AZ Oval C S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple neck
The fingerboard and neck are made of S-TECH treated maple wood.
S-TECH treatment is a nitrogen heat treatment technology for wood developed in Miyagi Prefecture, and its use in guitar materials is a world first.
S-TECH WOOD possesses characteristics such as dimensional stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes, and these features have earned it a patent in Japan.
After numerous prototypes and tests, the optimal neck thickness was determined to be 20.5*22.5 (at 1F*12F).
Furthermore, the finish uses an oil finish that mimics the texture of a well-played guitar neck.
●S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple Fretboard
The 305mmR fretboard was arrived at after numerous prototypes and trial and error, addressing multiple challenges, including the combination with the neck, to ensure that the sound doesn't muffle even with large bends and that chord work doesn't cause stress on the fingers or hands.
●Super All Access Neck Joint
The "Super All Access" neck joint achieves high playability by carving a step with an 8mm height difference from the back of the body and finishing the neck joint with a spherical surface.
The bass string side cutaway is designed to be shallower, maximizing the contact area between the body and neck. This achieves both high playability and excellent sustain and resonance.
● Luminlay side dot inlay
Features highly visible 3.0mm diameter phosphorescent dot position markers to adapt to rapidly changing performance environments with lighting.
You won't lose track of the sound you want to play, even on a dark stage.
● Seymour Duncan Hyperion Pickups
We obtained dozens of pickups and measured the frequency characteristics of all of them.
From these, we determined the optimal pickup specifications and sound image for the AZ. This AZ-exclusive pickup was created in collaboration with Seymour Duncan, a pickup brand with a long history and a continuous commitment to innovation.
The output is kept relatively low to retain some of the original clean tone even when distorted, and the design focuses on picking responsiveness and accuracy.
From treble to bass, and even the resonance of the 1st to 6th strings, we prioritized overall balance and pursued excellent effect compatibility.
All magnets are Alnico-5.
●dyna-MIX 10 switching system with Alter switch
With a single flick of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, ensuring a wide range of sound variations.
This switching system is ideal for modern guitar players who need to perform multiple roles with limited equipment.
【*Alter switch】
HH model…Switches to Power Tap mode, which achieves a realistic single-coil sound.
One coil is tapped, and special wiring is used to enhance the low frequencies of the other coil, resulting in a clear high-frequency range and a thick, well-defined sound that cannot be achieved with simple tapping.
●Gotoh T1802 Tremolo Bridge
This bridge is a reimagining of the GOTOH 510 bridge, a highly regarded tremolo bridge among many players and guitar brands, created through a collaboration between Ibanez and GOTOH.
It features hard, machined titanium saddles and a machined steel inertia block, achieving both excellent attack and a solid, fat sound, while also boasting extended high frequencies.
The 10.5mm narrow string spacing design prioritizes ease of picking across strings, a feature demanded by players who frequently use skipping and hybrid picking.
Furthermore, it features an arm socket that allows the use of Ibanez Edge tremolo arms and ultra-light tremolo arms (carbon fiber/UTA20/sold separately).
The arm can be attached with a snap-in mechanism, unlike conventional arms that require twisting.
The tremolo arm torque can be easily adjusted by rotating the torque cap on the arm mounting section.
In addition, it comes standard with a stud lock mechanism that firmly secures the studs with grub screws, significantly contributing to tuning stability and resonance. It employs a two-point floating support system for smooth arming and arm-up.
●An ergonomic body back contour
This is an original body shape aiming for a contemporary design.
The thin body contour and large elbow contour create a sense of unity between the player and the guitar, greatly contributing to improved playability.
The deep waist of the body also improves handling when held and on stage, resulting in high playability.
The corner radius differs between the front and back of the body, creating an ergonomic design that feels comfortable the moment you pick up the guitar, whether sitting or standing.
●Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads with H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post)
This guitar features Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads, renowned for their tuning stability.
Equipped with the H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post) mechanism, the post height can be adjusted, ensuring appropriate tension for each string.
