Romantic and ethereal 1970s vintage bridal gown featuring an empire waist silhouette and lightweight construction that truly moves with air. The skirt and detachable train float beautifully due to the sheer top organza layer that sits slightly away from the lining, creating a soft, airy drape rather than a heavy bridal feel.
The bodice is adorned with intricate lace appliqué with pearls sewn directly into the lace motifs. The high neckline features a softly gathered ruffled collar with a structured, slightly stiff finish that mirrors the plissé pleated ruffle at the hem.
Sleeves are softly puffed (Juliette-inspired) with subtle elbow pleating and covered button closures at the cuffs. The elbow pleats add gentle shaping and structure to the ruffled cuff sleeve.
Back closure consists of a hidden metal zipper. The decorative covered buttons are non-functional and serve as a design element only.
A velvet floral bow with pearl center detail accents the back empire waist. Attached velvet floor-length ties extend dramatically down the back.
The detachable train mounts at the empire waist via hooks and measures approximately 58” from the attachment point. The train is two layers, with organza as the top layer for added float and movement. Both the gown hem and the train finish with structured plissé pleated ruffle trim.
The overall feel is romantic, airy, and floaty — not heavy.
