The Lionel Sound Activation Button most commonly known by the part number 6-5906 (or 610-5906-001) works with modern Lionel O and S-gauge locomotives equipped with electronic sounds.It allows you to control the Horn/Whistle and Bell sounds on your trains.
What it works with:
Older & Traditional AC Transformers: It is designed specifically for AC transformers (like the classic postwar Lionel ZW, KW, or RW) that only have a whistle/horn button but lack a dedicated bell button.
Digital Sound Systems:
It functions with engines featuring Railsounds, TrainSounds, or LEGACY systems operating in conventional (transformer) mode.
Sound-Equipped Cars: It can also be used to trigger features on older add-on rolling stock that have built-in sound systems (like certain vintage Lionel boxcars).
