Early Victorian Heavy 48g Sterling Silver Sugar Tongs.
A cracking pair of solid Fiddle Pattern Tongs by the renowned Silversmith, Charles Lias in London in 1841
They are in fantastic condition, no bends, dinks or twists, the ends of the bowls are lovely too and a great spring to them.
They were a wedding present, engraved at the end of the bow are the initials; H
W M
Hallmarked on one leg C L for Charles Lias. and bow shaped Journey Man's mark.
On the other; Leopard's Head, Lion Passant, f for 1841, Victoria's Head Duty Mark.
5.75'', 14.5cm long, 2'', 5cm wide and a stonking 48g in weight.
