Vintage Eastover Mining Company “Six Month Safety Award” trucker hat featuring the Eastover logo, Highsplint, Kentucky location, and “Safety First” side patches. Made in the USA with mesh back construction and adjustable snapback closure.

This hat was acquired from an estate belonging to an Eastover Mining Company employee and was found alongside additional Eastover Mining memorabilia, publications, and employee-related items, including an Eastover Mining Company 1970–1980 commemorative book. Based on the estate provenance, construction, materials, and style, this hat is believed to date to the late 1970s.

Eastover Mining Company was a major coal producer in the Appalachian coalfields of Kentucky and Virginia. The company was active during a significant period in coal mining history that included industry-wide labor disputes, safety initiatives, and changing mining conditions throughout the 1970s. This safety award hat represents a unique piece of coal mining and Appalachian industrial history.
