Up for auction is a civil war era CDV Album that belonged to the family of R.W. and Wm. Mckendree Snyder of Jeffersonville and Columbus, Indiana. R.W. Snyder was a photographer in the area, and the album is filled with Snyder family members, including:
- Only one picture is outside of it's holder, and it possesses a civil war tax revenue stamp.
- Six cdvs were pulled from their holder, and all possessed a Snyder Studio back marks, being from Jeffersonville or Columbus, Indiana. Some are hand tinted.
- A totally filled index page is in the front of the book which match photograph identifications in the album. Many of the pictures in the album are identified under the image on the page margin.
- Book contains 36 cdv's and ten tintypes;
- Several cdv's of the artist's father Wm. Snyder, as well as his wife.
- Mr. Snyder was an artist of the Hudson River School group, and a civil war drummer boy in his youth. He actually survived captivity at Andersonville Confederate Prison;
- Book is in overall average condition, with both covers and cover clasps present. One break in the spine, but all of the pages are still connected. Front cover embossed in gold lettering "Jennie";
- Album is totally full. Approximately six pictures were pulled from their holders to view their backs, and all were returned to their ORIGINAL spots.
