The ATC-3200 is an economical, highly integrated Serial-Zigbee radio modem. Based on ZigBee technology, the ATC-3200 is ideal for a wide range of applications, from simple RS-232 cable replacement to sophisticated RS-485 multi-drop networks. Available in RS-232/422/485 ZigBee is the global language of wireless connection devices and allows radically different devices to work together in the wireless network. The radio range in the presence of obstacles is up to 500m as the crow flies. Once turned on, press the setting button for a few seconds by inserting a wand into the appropriate hole next to the power connector until the LEDs on the device flash to begin the configuration procedure. Then run the configuration program. Select the COM port to which the device is connected and press NEXT: Configure the connection parameters for the module that will become MASTER by selecting a PANID (to diversify multiple networks), the transmission channel, baud rate, and the RS232 serial parameters. In the Encryption Key field, enter a random or preferred text key to encrypt radio communications between modules. Then press “Write To Master” Now the MASTER module is ready. Disconnect the current module and connect the second module supplied in the same way which will be the first SLAVE on the network. Press the setting button for a few seconds by inserting a wand into the appropriate hole next to the power connector until the LEDs on the device flash to begin the configuration procedure. Then in the program press “Next”. Press “Write To Slave” to set the same parameters (already preset in the software) on the SLAVE module and disconnect the device. Repeat this operation for each SLAVE module that you wish to connect to the same network. The devices are now configured! To start communication, simply connect at least one Master and one Slave module with the DTE, DCE or other devices that must transmit and receive data on the respective RS232 RS485 RS422 ports to have a highly reliable and safe serial communication channel with a range of up to 500m in the presence of obstacles. The modules are completely transparent in serial communication, as if there were a real cable.
