Up for sale is a 2006 Gibson Custom Shop Historic ’68 Les Paul Custom Reissue in Ebony, complete with its original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case.
This is a very cool Historic Collection Black Beauty that captures the look, feel, and tone of the original 1968 Les Paul Custom extremely well. Featuring a maple top over a mahogany body, long neck tenon construction, ebony fingerboard, gold hardware, and a chunky ’50s-style neck profile, this guitar delivers everything players love about the best Custom Shop Les Paul Customs.
Loaded with a pair of Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers, it has the warm, rich, articulate tone and sustain that make these Historic Black Beauties so desirable.
The original Gibson Custom Shop hard-shell case is included. Unfortunately, the certificate of authenticity and original paperwork are not included.
Condition
Very Good – 7.5/10
The pickup covers have been replaced because the originals had excessive tarnish. Otherwise, the guitar remains in excellent playing condition.
Please review all photos carefully for the most accurate representation of condition.
There are no cracks, breaks, or structural issues. The neck is straight, the frets are in excellent condition with only minor wear, and the guitar has been professionally set up and plays cleanly up and down the neck with no buzzing or dead spots.

This guitar has the thick, authoritative voice players expect from a great Les Paul Custom. It delivers rich sustain, strong mids, warm lows, and clear highs, making it equally at home for rock, blues, hard rock, jazz, and heavier styles.
The chunky neck profile feels substantial and comfortable in hand, while the ebony fingerboard keeps the attack fast and articulate.
At 10 lbs 6 oz, it has the solid, sustaining feel many players specifically look for in a Les Paul Custom.
