For sale is a late 1800s/early 1900s L Bruck - Snake Bite Antidote kit. Produced in Sydney. These kits originally contained a vial of strycnine, which was believed to neutralise snake venom when injected at the bite site. This method was abandoned in the 1930s due to being ineffective.
This example is missing the strycnine vial (probably a good thing, its nasty stuff) and a couple of other pieces. That however, does not take away from its rarity. I have been collecting Antique/Vintage Snake bits/treatments for 15+ years and this is only the second example I've seen. I also have the other, more complete kit (See photo - NOT FOR SALE)
