Up for sale is a very clean and completely original 1978 Gibson EDS-1275 Double Neck in Walnut, complete with its original Gibson hard-shell case and original paperwork.
This is an exceptionally nice late-’70s EDS-1275 and one of the cleanest vintage examples you are likely to find. These iconic Gibson double-necks are among the most recognizable guitars ever made, famously associated with legendary live performances and classic rock recordings. With both 6-string and 12-string necks, original Gibson patent number humbuckers, and the classic Walnut finish, this guitar delivers the unmistakable look, feel, and sound that made the EDS-1275 legendary.
Finding a fully original vintage example in this kind of condition is becoming increasingly difficult.
Excellent – 9/10

Please review all photos carefully for the most accurate representation of condition.
One of the standout aspects of this guitar is just how original and well-preserved it is. The original Gibson patent number humbuckers deliver the warm, punchy, harmonically rich response players expect from a great vintage Gibson, while the dual-neck configuration gives you instant access to both massive 12-string textures and classic Gibson 6-string tones.
The Walnut finish also gives these late-’70s examples a very distinctive aesthetic compared to earlier Cherry versions.
The necks on this example are especially comfortable, both featuring slimmer profiles that make the guitar surprisingly easy to navigate despite its size.
This EDS-1275 delivers the huge, rich, layered sound these guitars are famous for. The 12-string neck produces shimmering, harmonically dense tones with excellent clarity, while the 6-string side offers thick, warm Gibson humbucker tone with great sustain and punch.
Both necks feel fast and comfortable in hand, and the guitar balances very well for a vintage double-neck.
At 11 lbs 8 oz, it has the substantial feel you would expect from a classic EDS-1275 without feeling excessively heavy.
